FUNimation Anime
I've steered away from FUNimation for a while now. The reason being that they dub anime. I thought I'd check out what botch job dubbing they did for AIR TV. I'm infuriated by the fact they got away with that piece of crap! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I want to torture them all... SLOWLY! My anger still hasn't diminished. |

RE: FUNimation Anime
Simple, dont watch it dubbed. Generally Im just glad that Funimation allows it to be placed on DVD shelf. As far as dubbing it seems no one but Bandai can get one right so I expect nothing of the American industry and I never get let down when they give me nothing.

RE: FUNimation Anime
I've calmed down since last time =)
I'll just remember to steer clear of Funimation, not that I would ever switch to Dubs at any point. I just hope their range of voice actors increases so to increase the quality. They really could to with some pointers. Since I have noticed and read it elsewhere that they tend to use the same voice actors quite a lot, so many of their series have the same voices. Also they use people with strong American accents which I feel makes the character sound out of place. |

RE: FUNimation Anime
Funimation has done an excellent job marketing their VA's. If you go on the Funimation forums you will find fans that will buy a title because person A is in it. Its amazing how the Funi VA's are treated like rock stars at conventions.. Kinda sad really.

RE: FUNimation Anime
I must agree, all they do is some (What may be their best) half arsed VA-ing so they really shouldn't gain the recognition that they've been given.
But I guess when you do VA-ing you tend to take a job not for the love of doing it but for the love of cash. Those are my views on it anyway. I wouldn't mind trying my hand at VA-ing myself. |

RE: FUNimation Anime
How are the quality of the subs they put to their DVD's?
Sometimes they can be inaccurate and hardcoded/Ugly, but I guess that they wouldn't be so big if that was the case would it. =) |

RE: FUNimation Anime
From everything I have seen, I havent seen anything to bad on the sub side. Kanon looked fairly good as well as xxxholic. Higurashi was very well subbed, so far so good

RE: FUNimation Anime
I've bought several titles since I last posted on this thread. While the dubs have been an abomination to the title, the DVD quality and price points have made it a great purchase.
