I was paying $66/month for car insurance (basic of basic), if I could have afforded it I would have done the step up which would have cost $87/month, but when you were living paycheck to paycheck, its kind of hard, so anywhere you can save money is a plus. The car I drove wasn't really worth the step up anyways, it was turning into a junker, (but now it IS a junker).
$66/month: $792 yearly $87/month: $1044 yearly And fuel is on average: $3.28/gallon where I live. |

It all sounds so amazingly cheap.
But as later posts have said, the cost of living differs between our two countries. Fuel Here: ?1.37 a litre, 80% of that is tax. 4 Years ago it was ?0.90 per litre with the same 80% tax. Now that's ridiculous. |
